On Earth Day, 2011, the first Wheego LiFe Whip was delivered to an Atlanta couple through the dealership Jim Ellis Automotive. The two-seater, front-drive Whip is powered by large-format LiFePO4 batteries configured to produce 115V and boasts a range of 100 miles at speeds up to 65mph. According to Mike McQuary, CEO of Wheego Electric Cars, this first sale is the culmination of four years of research and development “and is perfectly timed to support President Obama’s Energy Plan”
