30 hp Aquawatt Electric Outboard Motor Powered by LiFePO4 Batteries

Australian electric boat motor specialist All4Solar announced 20 hp (13 kw) and 30 hp (22 kw) versions of the Aquawatt outboard motors.  The 30 hp Aquawatt is claimed to be the most powerful electric outboard motor available, allowing speeds up to 31 mph with a 4 meter boat according to gizmag.com.  Power for the outboard motors comes from Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. The 50V and 96V battery packs appear to use Thundersky cells and include balancing, over charge and discharge protection, and an external display according to the specification sheet.  Packs are offered in standard 100, 160 and 200Ah configurations with custom configurations available.
